The doorknob will be very cold when you let yourself out in the

morning. So do it quickly, don’t linger in the foyer, and shut the

door behind you with enough force to hear the latch click. The

hinges may stick, because it is halfway through December. It is

important that you hear the latch click. But please, do it quietly,

so that you don’t wake me.
